• “You know what I realized? That I give the finger a lot when I’m having seizures. My hands tense up and my middle fingers pop out.”

• “Everyone keeps asking me if I feel, or am scared that I’ll be typecast in horror films and I just don’t even think about it, because I know that I have more than one trick up my sleeve. I’m equally as interested in comedy, and I feel like I can do it all and have time to do it all.”

• “When I first got to L.A., I was stretching $20 a week, waiting tables, and I did that for about six months. And I didn’t mind it at all, I was really happy for that experience, but it made me really get aggressive about what I want. I’ve been doing this since I was eight, and never considered doing anything else, so I really had to kick it into gear.”

• “I’m addicted to dresses now – I didn’t even know I liked them,” says Carpenter. “I thought I’d live in my jeans and T-shirts forever.”

• “I had a birthday while we were shooting. And Josh Close, who played my boyfriend in the movie, gave me a shirt that I absolutely love. It says, ‘I do all my own exorcisms.’ I think everybody got a kick out of that.”

• “It’s just providing us a chance to check people out so that we can make sure we don’t have someone here that could pose a problem.”

• “I went out with the mayor. I’m adult, and that was my decision.”

• “They had made a dummy and would put it in the position they needed… I would look at it and see how well I could approximate it. They never once used the dummy.”
