Jennifer Carpenter has admitted that she had some concerns about dating her Dexter co-star Michael C Hall.
Carpenter and Hall married in 2009 after dating for a year and a half.
However, Carpenter told the Los Angeles Times that she was initially worried that the relationship could affect their ability to play adopted siblings on Dexter.
“We were just friends, and it was very easy to be friends,” she said. “We were both surprised when this other thing happened.
“We did a lot of talking about it – can we kiss, what will that mean, will we damage the credibility of our characters? We were very practical… But in the end, the heart wanted what the heart wanted.”
Dexter continues on Sundays at 9pm on Showtime.

Jennifer Carpenter looks to lighter side beyond ‘Dexter‘
The actress on the Showtime series enjoys the fierce bond with her on-screen half-brother, off-screen husband Michael C. Hall, but wants to play a funny girl in a comedy.
Jennifer Carpenter knows what it’s like to be put through the wringer. Her ordeals in the past few years include being possessed by the devil and battling virus-infected zombies. Much of her present schedule involves playing a driven but hypersensitive homicide detective on the hit Showtime drama “Dexter,” who has no clue that her beloved half-brother moonlights as a serial killer.

Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, who play half-siblings on Showtime’s “Dexter,” knew they were taking a risk when their off-screen relationship a few years ago started developing into a romance.

Just to let you know that the site has not been forgotten. In the beginning was the original idea that I would help a friend to run the site but she would be the main webmaster. I used to have the original Jennifer fan site Jennifer Carpenter Web and I wanted that Jennifer would have a good website for fans to go to. But my friend has shown no interest in the site what so ever. So I’ve decided to take over it.
