Its release date is still up in the air, but some new stills from The Factory starring John Cusack and Jennifer Carpenter have shown up online, and we have them for you here.
IM Global is home to the goods from director Morgan O’Neill’s The Factory, which he co-wrote with Paul Leyden. Along with Cusack and Carpenter, the film’s co-stars are Mae Whitman (“Parenthood“, “In Treatment“), Sonya Walger (“FlashForward“, “Lost“), Michael Trevino (“The Vampire Diaries“), and Cindy Sampson (“Supernatural“).
The synopsis follows:
“Rugged and obsessive detective Mike Fletcher and his partner, Kelsey Walker, are on the trail of a serial killer who prowls the streets targeting young streetwalkers. When Fletcher’s teenage daughter disappears, he discovers the killer has kidnapped her after mistaking her for a hooker. His obsession goes into overdrive when he drops all professional restraint to get to the killer and save his child.”
The cast and crew got back to work yesterday on Showtime’s hit series, “Dexter.” Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter and Julie Benz were all spotted on the set as filming on the fifth season of the sensational pseudo serial killer chronicle continued.
By this point in the article, you should be thinking to yourself, “um, what?!?!” Since as we all know Julie Benz’s character Rita was brutally and shockingly murdered in the fourth season finale [read PopWrap's postmortem with Julie]. Fret not, the epic and emotional ender wasn’t a dream or something of the like despite the fact Rita is returning — it’s only for one episode.
But how? Why? And how? I’ll allow Julie to shed some light (emphasis on “some”) on Rita’s return. “Rita is not going to be a ghost! The writers would never do something so cheesy,” she told E! Online. “If she does come back, it would be to move things along.”

A new interview from LA Times with Michael C. Hall where he speaks about the new season among other things.
When Michael C. Hall took to the stage to accept a Golden Globe in January, it represented his first win after four nominations for his role as a serial killer on Showtime’s “Dexter.” Just a week earlier, with awards season then in full swing and his Globes appearance at the Beverly Hilton Hotel imminent, Hall was compelled to make a startling.

This is another article on the new movie Faster that Jennifer will star in. It gives a bit more information on the movie and the characters than the last article. There is also a video of an interview with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson about the film and you can check that out under the article source.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is pretty great. Really. I’ve never been much of a wrestling fan, but I’ve definitely enjoyed his work as an actor. “The Rundown” and “Walking Tall” are both pure entertainment. And his presence in both “Be Cool” and “Southland Tales” elevated those two relative disasters. He’s been in a couple movies since those which I haven’t seen, but I’m really looking forward to his next one, “Faster”, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino, Moon Bloodgood, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Maggie Grace.
Johnson told MTV’s Larry Carroll at ShoWest recently that there’s one other notable name in the cast, someone who hasn’t come up yet in previous announcements: “Dexter” star Jennifer Carpenter. “['Faster' is] like a mix between ‘The Good, the Bad & the Ugly’ [and] ‘Bullitt’. It has an old-school texture to it where no one has names. There’s the Driver, the Killer, the Cop, the Evangelist, the Woman,” he said. Larry asked, is “The Woman” Gugino? “She’s actually a cop too,” Johnson replied. “Jennifer Carpenter.” Neat!

This movie sounds interesting and the article seems to have it right about Jennifer
It is suppose to be released sometime in 2010.
Think you know the entire cast of Faster? Think again. It’s common knowledge the film stars Dwayne Johnson as well as Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino, Moon Bloodgood, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Maggie Grace, but there’s someone missing from that list. Not only is does this individual play a pivotal role in the film, but she’s becoming a relatively well-known actress as well. It’s Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter!
Johnson leads as an ex-con going to the extreme to avenge his brother’s death. Gugino and Thornton are the detectives hot on his trail. While chatting with MTV at ShoWest, Johnson described the film as “a mix between The Good, the Bad & the Ugly [and] Bullitt. It has an old-school texture to it where no one has names. There’s the Driver, the Killer, the Cop, the Evangelist, the Woman.” ‘The Woman’ is Gugino, right? Wrong! Johnson revealed that part is played by Carpenter.

Exciting with some news on Jennifers upcoming movie The Factory, it will be her biggest part in a film so far I think. Just hope it will open up more doors for her career wise!
Dark Castle’s The Factory is another cop-pursuing-a-serial-killer film from actor-turned-director Morgan O’Neill. The movie – which stars 1408′s John Cusack and Dexter‘s Jennifer Carpenter – is set up to be released by Warner Bros, but was pulled from its original January 2011 release date.
Shock Till You Drop posted the first image from the film yesterday, while Fangoria has a few exclusive quotes from The Factory‘s veteran genre producer Don Carmody (Skinwalkers, Gothika, Orphan, Resident Evil: Afterlife, etc.), who supervised the film’s shoot in Vancouver and Montreal back in 2009. “It’s about a cop played by John Cusack who’s been tracking a serial killer unsuccessfully for a number of years,” Carmody tells us. “The serial killer appears to have been dormant for awhile, and they’re basically trying to get him to shut down his investigation, the powers that be, and then his daughter goes missing with the same kind of MO. So he kind of has to go around the system to track down what’s been going on.” Carpenter plays Cusack’s partner Kelsey Walker in the film.

The fifth season of Dexter went into production Friday, and thankfully, star Michael C. Hall is cancer-free and ready to work. The actor had begun treatments for Hodgkin’s lymphoma earlier this year, but as wife and co-star Jennifer Carpenter revealed, he’s now healthy.
“We’ve said it over and over that he’s in complete remission just so people will stop worrying,” Carpenter told E! News. “But still people come up to him asking, ‘Are you OK?’ “
But while Hall himself is fine, Dexter Morgan has many, many problems to deal with. The plot points of Dexter‘s fifth season are being kept strictly under wraps, but considering Season 4 ended with the shocking, bloody death of wife Rita, we’re guessing the new episodes aren’t all rainbows and unicorns.
Still, rumours persist that despite her character’s death, Julie Benz will return in some form.

Will Rita (Julie Benz) return as rumored? Is Michael C. Hall doing OK? And how on Earth is Dexter going to recover from that terrifyingly game-changing season finale, which still gives us chills at the very thought of it?
Well, Showtime’s Dexter is back in production this very day–whoopee!–and Jennifer Carpenter and Julie Benz are dishing…
“We’ve had our first read through, and people will be pleasantly surprised,” Jennifer tells us about the fifth season premiere, the first since (spoiler alert for anyone who’s behind!) Julie Benz’s gruesome season-finale sendoff. “We read the first episode, and it doesn’t feel like a job anymore. It’s just really exciting.”

I’m sure there is a lot of Julia Stiles fans that are pretty excited now!
Just a few weeks after his wife (and co-star) Jennifer Carpenter confirmed that “Dexter” star Michael C. Hall has recovered fully from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, HR is reporting the character will be starring opposite incoming actress Julia Stiles for a large story arc covering 10 episodes of the fifth season.
Stiles will be joining Hall, Carpenter, Lauren Velez, David Zayas and James Remar. The trade also confirms that Julie Benz will be reprising her role. Production is set to get underway this summer for an early 2011 release on Showtime.
The trade reports that Stiles will be featured in most of the next season, playing “a mysterious young woman who forms a unique relationship with Dexter.”
